Refund Policy

Last updated: May 7, 2026

This policy explains how cancellation, refunds, and Paddle-processed billing issues are handled for paid subscriptions and related digital services.

These policies are provided for transparency. They do not create rights beyond those required by applicable law.

Last updated: May 7, 2026

Varellium Books is owned and operated by Matthew Childs as a sole owner business.

This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for Varellium Books, including free alerts, paid subscriptions, email alerts, dashboards, market intelligence, and related digital services.

1. Paddle Billing And Refund Scope

Payments are processed by Paddle, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, receipts, applicable taxes, and buyer-side billing support. Refund requests for Paddle-processed purchases may be raised with us or through Paddle support.

2. Free Plans and Free Email Alerts

Free email alerts, free website access, free previews, and other free features do not require payment and therefore are not eligible for monetary refunds.

You may unsubscribe from free emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.

3. Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions may include premium alerts, earlier access to opportunities, additional deal details, dashboard access, category-specific alerts, market notes, or other paid digital features.

Subscription payments are generally treated as payments for access to a digital software and research service for the billing period purchased. Cancellation stops future renewals, but it does not automatically refund the current period.

4. When We Review Refund Requests

We review refund requests fairly and may issue a refund, full or partial, in situations such as:

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time.

Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund previous payments unless you request a refund under this Refund Policy.

After cancellation, you may continue to have access until the end of your current billing period unless the billing system or subscription platform ends access earlier.

6. Duplicate or Accidental Charges

If you believe you were charged twice, charged incorrectly, or charged after cancellation, contact us as soon as possible.

If we confirm a duplicate, accidental, or incorrect charge, we will refund the incorrect charge.

7. Annual Plans, If Offered

If annual plans are offered, customers may request a refund within 30 days of the annual payment.

After 30 days, refunds for annual plans may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

8. Abuse of Refund Policy

We aim to be generous and fair. However, we reserve the right to deny refund requests in cases of clear abuse, fraud, repeated refund requests, chargeback misuse, or behavior intended to access paid information without paying.

This exception is intended only to protect the service from abuse. Genuine dissatisfied customers should still expect a simple refund process.

9. Marketplace Purchases Are Not Covered

Varellium Books may link to rare book listings, auctions, third-party marketplaces, seller pages, or external websites.

Purchases made through third-party marketplaces are not purchases from Varellium Books.

We cannot refund payments made to third-party sellers, auction houses, marketplaces, payment processors, shipping providers, or external platforms.

Any refund, return, authenticity dispute, condition dispute, shipping issue, or transaction issue involving a third-party purchase must be handled directly with that third party.

10. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us at:

Please include:

You may also use Paddle buyer support for invoice, tax, and billing-assistance questions. We may request additional details if needed to locate the payment.

11. Refund Timing

Once approved, refunds are usually processed back to the original payment method.

The time it takes for the refund to appear in your account may depend on the payment processor, card issuer, bank, or subscription platform.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may update the "Last updated" date above and/or provide notice through the website, dashboard, or email where appropriate.
